Why do dogs chew?

Additionally, a dog that chews on various objects is less likely to exhibit unwanted behaviors such as excessive barking, digging, and causing various kinds of damage.

Puppy: pain in the gums from teething.

Adult: boredom or loneliness.

Elderly: pain from dental issues.
